Resilience

re·sil·ience 1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. 2. the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

This week has shown that the Hess community of parents, teachers, and students is resilient, flexible, and dedicated to our young people. As the world reacts to this historic pandemic, we have reached out across whatever means possible to make sure our students have a sense of connection. School has been a touchstone of normalcy, a purpose that drives focus and generates forward momentum as typical days seem to come to a standstill. We hope that each of you can find some strength in the resilience you and your loved ones have displayed this week. It seems appropriate that it is the beginning of Spring as we all jumped head first into this unknown time--the season being a physical reminder of the unlimited potential we each possess. We hope that this weekend brings a little respite for each of you as we continue to forge ahead.
